Vote online at Design Toscano's website to elect the gothic beast that you prefer! Take part in the epic battle for Gothic Supremacy.

Who will you choose? Will you support the mythical, fire-spouting dragon, and its legendary strength, or will you choose to honor history's stone sentry, the loyal gargoyle?

So far, the polls show that Design Toscano shoppers prefer the Dragon, with the current results at about 60 percent in support of dragons and 40 percent in support of gargoyles. So gargoyle fans, be sure to visit the poll and cast your vote in favor of your preferred gothic beast!

Dragon Garden Statues and Gargoyle Figurines are popular in homes today because of their historical and mythological significance.

In the early 20th century sculpture of the Norwegian artist Gustav Vigeland, inspired by Medieval art, dragons are a frequent theme.  They have become symbols of sin, but also a symbol of a nature force, fighting against man.

As for gargoyles, they have appeared mostly in churches, and were often used to assist the Church in conveying messages to the common people. Due to literacy being uncommon, images were the best way to constantly convey ideas. Gargoyles were used as a representation of evil. In addition, they were used to scare people into coming to church, reminding them that the end of days is near.
